Sportandfashion-news Netflix Reviews: Love, Actually

Some of the Netflix reviews are going to be movies I have only seen bits and pieces of or I only saw it on television meaning you never get the true idea of the movie.  This is what happened with Love, Actually. People rave about this movie. Many people would puff out their chest and say 'By people, you mean women, right?'  Wrong. It is a good movie for all genders, and if you think that's wrong, we will have a disagreement. If you say it revokes a 'man card' which is a stupid term to begin with, I really do think less of you, apologies.

Since we are here, let's talk holiday movies. Sign me up every time. I came to this revelation when I was at jury duty this week where they showed The Family Stone and The Holiday. Both might not be the best movies, but dammit if I did not enjoy both them minus Sarah Jessica Parker in The Family Stone, she is right up there with Katherine Heigl in least likable actresses. It is hard for me to find a holiday movie where I dislike it honestly. The only holiday movie I can come up with that I did not enjoy was Four Christmases with Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon. That one is pretty damn bad.

Cast: Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Bill Nighy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Andrew Lincoln, Laura Linney, Keira Knightley
Genre: Romantic Comedy/Holiday Movie.

Charlie's Rating: 4.5 out 5 - During the middle of the movie, I wondered if this was one of those movies where people hype it up and you get let down in the process. There is a lull definitely to this movie for about 20 or 30 minutes. But it is completely worth it for the final 40 or 50 minutes of the movie. There are so many 'Holy shit, this is awesome' moments in the final 30 minutes. I came away loving Liam Neeson's character because we all see him now as this badass from Taken and other movies yet he does have a soft side where he can be a fun actor. I wish he would do more movies like this one. Albeit he feels young to be a Prime Minster, Hugh Grant is awesome in his role. It is hard to remember a movie with Grant where he fails at his job. It does not become a true five either because there are some holes with Linney's and Lincoln's characters.

My biggest takeaway when the credits were rolling and Netflix is asking for your review is how much this movie gives you hope about love. Granted, this is the movies and most of the things that occur in this movie do not happen yet the holiday season tends to do weird things to people especially with love and relationships. I completely recommend this movie to people who are single, in a relationship or married. It works for all involved parties.

Also how about the cameos in this one from January Jones, Elisha Cuthbert, Shannon Elizabeth and Denise Richards? That's a hell of a starting five. I also miss Shannon Elizabeth.

IMDB: 7.7/10
