If you do not know, I am a fan of almost all sports. In all honesty, it is a detriment because my focus wanders in all sorts of directions. Tennis is a sport where I will start watching when it gets closer to the quarterfinals to the finals. Personal favorite is Wimbledon, but I like all the majors equally.
A story is developing in the Australian Open as Genie Bouchard, a young 19-year-old Canadian, is in the semifinals of a major making it the furthest a Canadian woman has gone since 1984. She knocked off Ana Ivonvic who beat Serena Williams and moves on to face Li Na. I have decided to join her bandwagon. It is close enough to the United States, and I like to be a part of movements even if I am very late. #GenieArmy is a popular hashtag on Twitter, and probably is going to be looked at as the most attractive Canadian since the days of Robin Sprinkles.
In the video below, the sideline (Umm what?) reporter asked Bouchard about her celebrity crush. She states it is Justin Bieber. Look I could be upset about that, but in reality, it makes sense. She is around his age, both are Canadians, I see no harm, no foul. I assume many teenage boys in Canada are going to bed a little dented, but it gets better guys, don't worry. I am all in.
Time to Join Genie Bouchard's Bandwagon
