Reports have claimed Chelsea are ready to renew their interest in Luka Modric. The Real Madrid playmaker was the subject of a £35million bid when he was a Tottenham Hotspur player, but Spurs were unwilling to sell him to their London rivals in 2012 and he instead joined the ranks at the Bernabeu. After a slow start to life in Madrid he established himself under head coach Jose Mourinho, who is now back in charge of Chelsea and keen on a reunion with the Croatian star, who has made 31 appearances for the La Liga giants this term. He has been earmarked as the long-term replacement for Blues stalwart Frank Lampard, despite the fact that the England man could extend his contract at Stamford Bridge. (SportsDirectNews)
