Everton manager Roberto Martinez has taken issue with the 'mind games' employed by his Premier League counterparts by joking that his side would be delighted to win the title.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, Manchester City's Manuel Pellegrini and Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers have all played down their sides' title credentials in recent weeks, but Martinez says that Everton are aiming for the sky. "Obviously it seems no one wants to win the league," Martinez told a press conference on Tuesday. "No one wants to come out and say they want to win the league – we are quite happy to want to win the league!" Everton's title hopes appear slim, however, as they currently trail leaders Chelsea by 11 points with 13 matches of the season remaining.
