It is about time to get familiar with Cedric Gervais because it appears he is on the cusp of having his second mega hit by taking a ballad song from a pop star and making into a song for the clubs. For those unfamiliar, Gervais made 'Summertime Sadness' into the hit it was for Lana Del Rey whom saw a bump from it during the summer and into the fall of 2013 despite the album coming out months before it. He takes Miley Cyrus' 'Adore You' and does the exact same. This one is more upbeat than Lana's but there is no question to believe this will not be a huge top 40 success. Hopefully Gervais gets more credit than he did last time around as some radio stations would fail to mention his involvement. (H/T Barstool Beats)

First Taste: 2014 Coachella Lineup
And so it begins. Festival season has become a 'thing' in the United States for the last several years. It is spread out from April to October, and there are more of them than you can count. The three heavy hitters are Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. Coachella seems to be getting more attention because it is the first one, and they have been known for things like Kanye West's performance post-Taylor Swift, Tupac hologram and this year, they bring OutKast together who have not toured since 1999.
My thoughts on the lineup. I would be all for Saturday as a fan of a lot of the top acts. Beck is a puzzling choice near the top of Sunday. They obviously want to appeal to the EDM fans of the world as Coachella brings in several of the most popular acts. Lorde performing before Lana Del Rey could be the worst thing for Lana if we wan to get into the pop music side of it. I do not know much about concert lineups, but this is not like 'Holy shit get me there' so I will go with a B/B-.

I really did not see French Montana leading off our music coverage for 2014. Like not at all. I usually stay away from his music because well except for 'Pop That', I really do not get down with French. Only reason I checked this out is he sampled a Lana Del Rey song for his first track off his new mixtape. I happened to like her music which is an unpopular take on music but I do not care whatsoever. I feel like Montana could have used another song from Rey and made this better. The soft tones of her song do not really fit with the rest of this song. Good stuff from Wiz Khalifa though. Best Wiz verse I have heard in awhile which is encouraging and possibly something to watch for in 2014.
