First Taste: Really Be (Smokin' N Drinkin') - YG (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

In the last six months, there have not been many rappers with a quicker rise than YG. He had one of the most popular songs of the last quarter, and he figures to make his impact on the rap game when his album drops next week. We got a new track off it featuring Kendrick Lamar and produced by Ty Dolla $ign where it brings back the California rap of the 90's with heavy beats, a different style of rapping and definitely a laid back feel to it despite the nature of the lyrics. I do not hate the song, but it is not one, I am rushing to download. It probably takes some time to grow on me, but right now, it is just a song with a mega beat that I would love to hear someone else on.

First Taste: Backwards - Kendrick Lamar (feat. Tame Impala)

KENNYYYYYYYYYYY. What a way to start our Monday with a new Kendrick Lamar track whom jumps on Tame Impala's 'Feels Like We Are Going Backwards' for the surefire soundtrack for Divergent. Once again, Kendrick is telling people he is not happy with life and continuing the chip on his shoulder that has developed in the past couple of months. I do not know if I want to hear him yelling on every track, but right now, it is working for me. The best part of the angry rap on this song is it is such a slow down track without Kendrick's verses, but instead, it is a banger. Like I said, this is how Monday needs to start at Sportandfashion-news Offices.

First Taste: Kendrick Lamar & Imagine Dragons Make Beautiful Music

When I heard Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons were performing together at last night's Grammy's awards, I tried to keep an open mind about it but I expected it to be horrible. I am not the biggest Imagine Dragons fan as they have beaten to death by radio among other reasons. Instead, it was awesome with Kenny Lamar going completely off showing why he is 'King Kendrick.' What I loved about Kendrick's performance is he went with a song not many casual fans would know with 'maad city.'  The collaboration blended in nicely with Imagine Dragons smash hit 'Radioactive.'
